I just came back from a short trip visiting my sister in Miami. The place has seriously gotten me ready for summer. The energy, the colorful vibes, and beautiful people made an impression on me. I've been there plenty of times, but this time just felt different. I feel inspired to wear hot pink, neon green, and visors all summer. Ha! Maybe the visors are a stretch, but it felt more...ALIVE.
I think it's so important to travel even just for a short while to sunny beautiful places especially when living in Chicago! Not that I don't love this awesome city, but the weather can get to you emotionally and physically. I had to see the sun and feel that heat! Miami is such a short flight away so it's perfect for that small getaway.
Miami Design District was the perfect place to shoot this dress. You can browse and shop luxury brands in MDD, among them being Hermes, Fendi and Christian Louboutin. It's home to more than 130 art galleries, showrooms, stores, antique dealers, creative services, eateries and bars. Even though I love south beach and all the restaurants and shopping it provides, I love coming here. Again it's just a different feeling.
My dress (I'm obsessed!) is vintage of course, but you can shop some of my favorite sequin dresses below that I'm equally obsessed with. They are perfect for summer nights out, or even daytime brunch with sneakers, why not?!
In the next few weeks I'll be posting my favorite summer looks. I'm definitely getting more and more into sequin and bright colors. Last summer I was very much into vintage florals, boho vibes, and simpler styles. This summer I'll have more of a bright 80's feel. But you never know, so stay tuned!
